Huntley wrapping up Reed Road multi-use bike path project

The village of Huntley recently announced that construction is nearly complete for a multi-use path along the north side of Reed Road from the existing paved path at Reed Road and Vine Street to the signalized intersection of Route 47 and Reed Road, for an approximate distance of a quarter-mile.

The path segment will enhance the pedestrian experience for its users and fill a gap in the existing path network for safe access to and from schools for the surrounding neighborhoods.

When completed, the project will build upon and connect to existing multi-use path networks which currently serve the Talamore residential subdivision west of Vine Street, the multi-use path network east and north of the Route 47 intersection with Reed Road, as well as commercial destinations.

The path will also connect to the existing carriage walk pedestrian facilities along both the east and west sides of Route 47. The completion date for this project is Aug. 28.
