Elmhurst discusses sidewalk plans

Elmhurst is performing a preliminary engineering study for construction of a sidewalk along North York Street from Lake Street to the area around the I-290 westbound ramps and Crestview Avenue.

The city will introduce the project and seek public input during an informal open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, outside city hall at 209 N. York St.

Attendance will be limited to 50 people at one time, including city staff and consultants, and a line may form. All attendees must wear a mask and practice social distancing.

In the event of rain, the meeting will be moved inside.
