1 killed, 4 wounded in western Kentucky shooting

PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) - One person was killed and four others were wounded in a weekend shooting in western Kentucky, authorities said.

Officers responded late Saturday to a report of gunshots in Paducah and arrived at the scene to find five people suffering from gunshot wounds, according to news outlets, which cited a police report. Officers provided aid and all five people were taken to hospitals.

Keyshawn Childress, 32, was pronounced dead Sunday morning and Demonta Woodward, 21, was in critical condition, police said. Both were from Mounds, Illinois.

Cynthia White, 28, and Miranda Williams, 29, both of Paducah, and Keenan Parson, 25, of Marion, Illinois, and were taken to Paducah hospitals and were in stable condition, officials said.

Police were interviewing witnesses and seeking anyone with information. No arrests have been made.
