Metra plans crossing work in Bensenville

Metra is planning repair work at Bensenville's Addison Street railroad crossing beginning Wednesday, Aug. 5, and continuing through Aug. 14. The crossing will be closed during repairs and traffic will be detoured to Center Street.

Crews are scheduled to cut the pavement on Wednesday; remove the asphalt and crossing rubber on Thursday and Friday; replace the tracks on Saturday and Sunday; make final track adjustments on Aug. 10; install concrete crossing pads on Aug. 11 and 12; replace asphalt on Aug. 13; and reopen the crossing on Aug. 14.

The project is weather dependent.
