Clubhouse Chatter: Question headline

What our Sports staff has to say while waiting for the games to fully resume.

Bears 1985? Cubs 2016? Both of those trips would have been awesome, for sure, but the one I'd truly like to have been on was the Bulls' trip home from Salt Lake City in 1998. Of course, I would have been seated across the aisle from MJ.

It should be the flight home from New Orleans after the Bears won the Super Bowl, but half the team was headed to Hawaii for the Pro Bowl. Next best option is the Bulls' plane headed home from Los Angeles after winning their first title.

- Barry Rozner

The White Sox's flight in 2005 after they won the World Series at Houston. That was a fun team, and a great one. The Sox were 11-1 in the '05 postseason and had four straight complete games vs. the Angels in the ALCS.

It would be interesting to compare the ride home from the Bulls' first championship in Los Angeles with the last championship in Utah. So if I can dodge the question a little bit, I'll sneak onto those two flights.

- Mike McGraw

In the golden era of train travel, the Bears' ride home from Washington after a 73-0 victory in the 1940 NFL championship game must have been something else.

- Orrin Schwarz

It was a short trip, but I can't imagine a better flight home than after the Cubs won Game 7 of the 2016 World Series in Cleveland.

- Kevin Schmit

I'll take the trip back home from New Orleans. And I'm sure I don't even have to mention what game that was in Chicago sports history. Da Coach, Sweetness, Fridge, etc. ... so many big names who would have been fun to talk to on that return trip from the dome!
