Rights and masks

Full disclosure, I'm 74 and I am little more sensitive about this topic than some might be. I went to Home Depot today in Carpentersville and about half the patrons and one employee were not wearing face masks.

For those of you who say "that's their right," I disagree.

I think the government has just as much right to require face masks to keep us safe as they do to require that we drive on the right side of the road or stop at stop signs for the same reason.

But I won't argue the point. If you believe that, OK, but remember that store owners have the right to refuse service to those who don't comply. You can't selectively define "rights" as applying to only you.

Some retailers are good at protecting the public, like Menards, where I will go for home improvement supplies in the future.
