Clubhouse Chatter: Here are the all-time NBA starting five

What our Sports staff has to say while waiting for the games to resume.

I'd like to see the challenge of Michael Jordan and Isiah Thomas on the same team, so let's go with MJ, Isiah, Larry Bird, Oscar Robertson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Chemistry could be an issue.

Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird and Julius Erving. It's awfully difficult to leave out Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul Jabbar and LeBron James, but this question asked for my starting five - not the top five players of all time. Give me five guys from a bygone era where defense was played at all times (because they actually allowed you to play it) and you couldn't take four steps while carrying the basketball. This quintet would be a sight to see.

Obviously, this list begins with the GOAT, Michael Jordan. Larry Bird, LeBron James, Magic Johnson and Bill Russell round out the first five. Apologies go to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant and Oscar Robertson.

Michael Jordan. LeBron James. Kobe Bryant. Wilt Chamberlain. Magic Johnson. Can't believe I snubbed Larry Bird.

My NBA starting five would beat the Dream Team by triple digits: PG Magic Johnson, SG Kobe Bryant, SF Michael Jordan, PF LeBron James, C Bill Russell. Opponents would never score.

So many great ones to choose from, but we'll settle on MJ and Magic at the guards with Larry Bird and LeBron James at forward. Can I have seven guys? My favorite center to watch was Bill Russell. Also partial to Wilt Chamberlain, but in the end I'll go with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
