Clubhouse Chatter: Name the best father/son combo in history

What our Sports staff has to say while waiting for the games to resume.

Seriously considered some horses here, but went with Bobby (610 goals) and Brett Hull (741). Two Hall of Famers, they combined for 1,351 NHL goals, and Bobby had another 303 in the WHA. Love that Brett's Twitter handle used to be @2ndBestHull.

The Mannings: Father Archie and sons Peyton and Eli, all longtime NFL quarterbacks. That is absolutely amazing from one family!

My favorite father-son combination is Gordie Howe and his boys Mark and Marty. Gordie's wife, Colleen, also was huge in hockey circles.

I like the Griffeys, Ken and Junior. Dad was underrated, part of the Big Red Machine who stole 200 bases, hit nearly .300, made three All-Star Games and had more than 2,000 hits. Junior holds up even better as one of the all-time greats after watching "Long Gone Summer" recently. He was a true five-tool player who didn't end up looking like a cartoon figure from juicing. Griffey finished with a .907 OPS, 630 home runs and almost 2,000 RBI, was a nightly highlight reel in center field and played with an iconic smile.

How about father/daughter? I'll go with Harvey and Tamika Catchings. Or maybe mother/son, Katrina Hanniford and Max Christie. For father/son, I'll stay local and go with Walter and Jarrett Payton.

Bobby Hull and Brett Hull. Both are in the Hockey Hall of Fame with 1,000 points each, and both are Stanley Cup champs. The Golden Jet scored 610 NHL goals. His kid lit the lamp 741 times - and should have been a Blackhawk.
