Prospect Heights Public Library Reopens Monday, July 13

The Prospect Heights Public Library will reopen Monday, July 13 with limited hours and services. Library hours will be Monday through Friday 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday 10 am to 2 pm. The library will remain closed on Sundays.

A library staff member will greet patrons at the front entrance welcoming visitors and ensuring that everyone is wearing a mask. Up to 50 people at a time will be allowed inside the library Visitors who are unable to wear a mask because of a pre-existing medical condition or need special accommodations to access the library may contact the adult services department at (847) 259-3500 or asdept@phpl.info to make arrangements in advance.

All patrons over the age of 2 will be required to wear masks and practice social distancing.

Visitors will be welcome to walk through the majority of the library to find and checkout materials. Plexiglass has been installed at all service desks. Access to Youth Services will be restricted, but staff will be available to obtain any requested children's materials. Visitors are encouraged to use the self-checkout station.

Passport services will also resume July 13. Virtual services, virtual programming and curbside services will continue. Fax/Scan/Copy/Print services will be available as usual.

Public computers will be available for up to an hour at a time per day, and they will be cleaned between uses. Appointments can be made for computer time. Seating throughout the library is limited. Study and meeting rooms will be unavailable. Library management and staff request that people limit their time in the library.

Prospect Heights Public Library has been accepting material returns since May 29. The Library has also changed its circulation policy; materials are now fine free.
