No injuries reported after Metra train strikes car in downtown Palatine
No injuries were reported Sunday after a car was struck by a Metra train in downtown Palatine.
Metra spokeswoman Katie Dahlstrom said the crash occurred about 10:45 a.m. when outbound train 703 hit the car at the Union Pacific Northwest Line's crossing with Palatine Road.
The crash created extensive Metra delays that carried well into the afternoon.
Palatine police and fire officials could not be reached for comment Sunday.
