The golfing spouse
I was intrigued by the article headline "Have fun on the course by inviting your significant other" by T.J. Sullivan in the Sports section recently. My significant other's birthday is coming up and he and I often celebrate with 18 holes of golf and dinner.
Instead, what I read was an article referring to the significant other as a woman, one who should be excited to get to drive the cart, one who should pick a less crowded time to play, not inconveniencing the more experienced golfer, one who should pick up their ball, not finish a hole, talk while people are hitting and not play by the rules and oh, yes, go ahead and let her chose what to eat when your round is over. This is a joke right?
If this were meant to be an article on introducing the novice golfer (male or female) on ways to enjoy golf, try again, and this time think before you write.
