An uplifting column
Subject: Article by James Mukoyama. This is truly the first uplifting and true article I have seen in the media about the Minnesota murder. If we truly are Americans and want to see this country prosper, we must address the real problems. Anger, hatred, a lack or personal and social responsibility are the underlying causes of most of what we are experiencing. Putting oneself first and ones needs rather than others, is also a problem. We have a selfish society that wants their own way and when they don't get their way, they become hateful and act out.
The language we hear in movies, TV, songs, stores and schools is vulgar. This wouldn't have been tolerated 30 years ago. We have respect for no one. Especially if they have a different viewpoint. People don't respect themselves. Look at the appearance/dress of most under 40 and some over. Where do we go from here? ow do we bring respect for life and self back? How do we change a culture of tantrum people when they don't get their way?
Hats off, Mr. Mukoyama. You have nailed the problem. My only hope is that the media will begin to show what the real problems are and not show us repeatedly, people behaving badly.
