Get Clean Jobs Act now

The events of 2020 have made it ever clearer that old systems need to revolutionize. COVID and the BLM movement have laid bare the life-threatening harm done through racist systems. The fossil fuel industry is not exempt from its harm on communities of color. Shutting it down can create opportunities for just and equitable systems that begin to right the wrong of racism in our country.

The Clean Energy Jobs Act (CEJA) will transition the state onto 100% renewable energy by 2050. It will create a network of front-line organizations called Clean Jobs Workforce Hubs that will provide direct and sustained support, including job opportunities, for minority and disadvantaged communities. CEJA will prioritize companies that implement equity actions to ensure equitable representation in Illinois' clean energy workforce.

In addition, it will create a contractor incubator program that will develop underserved businesses in the clean energy sector. The time for change is long past. Let's solve the climate crisis, dismantle a racist system, rebuild with equity and justice, and create a healthier environment for all. Illinois legislators, please vote in favor of CEJA. We are out of time to delay.
