Vernon Township pool reopening for recreational swimming

Vernon Township's Peterson Pool near Buffalo Grove is reopening for recreational swimming, with a soft opening Wednesday and a full opening Thursday, township officials announced.

A maximum of 50 people will be allowed in the pool at a time, including staff. Reservations are not required.

Visitors do not have to wear a mask when they are in the water or in socially distanced group area on deck, but masks are required at all other times while in the facility. Staff will be sanitizing the facility at least every two hours.

Pool hours will be noon to 8 p.m. weekdays and noon to 6 p.m. on weekends. The pool is located at 16652 N. Buffalo Grove Road.

Vernon Township provides services to residents in all or portions of the villages of Buffalo Grove, Indian Creek, Lincolnshire, Long Grove, Mettawa, Mundelein, Riverwoods, Vernon Hills, the City of Lake Forest, and unincorporated Vernon Township.
