No injuries in Lombard house fire
No injuries were reported Sunday in a fire that damaged a Lombard house and left the building on the 100 block of S. Stewart uninhabitable until repairs can be made, authorities said Monday.
Firefighters said they were met by the homeowner when they arrived who told them the fire started in the basement. Crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly, but not until it caused moderate damage throughout the house.
Fire crews were assisted by Lombard police, the Elmhurst and Villa Park fire departments and the Addison and York Center Fire Protection Districts.
Firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire.
