Bensenville celebrates Father's Day with Classic Car Cruise

On Sunday, June 21, the Village of Bensenville celebrated Father's Day with a classic car cruise through Bensenville neighborhoods. Community events and large gatherings are still prohibited under the Restore Illinois Plan, but the village saw this as an opportunity to bring people together while still remaining safe and distant.

The cruise featured nearly two dozen classic cars, starting near the village hall before driving for 60 minutes through multiple Bensenville neighborhoods.

Car models included a 1940 Chevy Sedan, a 1968 Plymouth Barracuda, a 1959 Impala and a 1948 Chevy Flip Master.

"While the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted many of the community events we enjoy, the Father's Day Car Cruise was a great opportunity to safely bring our community together to celebrate Dad," said Village President Frank DeSimone. "The strong sense of community is what makes Bensenville such a great place to live and I'm glad that despite all that is going on around us, we're able to still offer a fun event for our residents."
