Recycle, shred for students

DuPage Credit Union is hosting its seventh annual Drive, Drop & Donate event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at its Naperville operations center, 1515 Bond St.

Organizers invite anyone in need of electronics recycling or document shredding to pay $10 per service, with 100% of proceeds benefiting the credit union's We've Got Your Back fundraiser for students in need.

The credit union will use the money to buy school supplies to distribute Aug. 5 at the annual Back to School Fair at the DuPage County Fairgrounds.

The event, sponsored by the Rusin-Fulco Realty Group, typically raises more than $3,000 a year.

Participants are asked to remain in their vehicles with recyclables or documents for shredding in their trunks for the credit union team to pick up. Organizers will accept cash or credit for payment, and they ask for cash to be placed in an envelope.
