Dennis DeYoung to headline livestream benefit concert Thursday

Dennis DeYoung, founding member of Styx, joins other performers for an online concert fundraiser Thursday, June 18.

Also performing are singer/songwriters Omar Sanchez Omi and Michael McDermott, blues woman Liz Mandeville, Dave Specter and local bands Sixteen Candles, Boy Band Review, Wedding Banned and Twin Peaks.

Proceeds from the Feed Chicago Virtual Summer Fest benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository, which reportedly distributes the equivalent of 171,000 meals to needy people throughout Cook County.

Viewers are encouraged to make a donation starting at $5 before the livestream event begins at 7 p.m. Thursday. They're also encouraged to donate throughout the concert.

Organizers say for every $1 donation, the Greater Chicago Food Depository provides three meals to needy people.
