Reserve judgment until facts are all in
It's sad that George Floyd died while being arrested by police. The conclusion by some in our media that George Floyd's death was racial is premature. It's sad that any person of any race dies while being arrested by a police officer. Approximately three times more whites get killed by police than blacks. We never hear that from the media though.
It' heartbreaking that anyone dies by the hands of police whatever their ethnicity. Sometimes deadly encounters are necessary. Sometimes they are not.
Keep in mind, the government at the local and federal level is investigating Mr. Floyd's death. The AG of Minnesota and the AG of the United States are involved. In our society, we must follow law and order or we don't have a society.
What makes Mr. Floyd's death even more terrible is the riots, which included vandalism, stealing and killing. How could anybody justify this behavior?
When all of the evidence is in and reviewed concerning Mr. Floyd, we will know the truth and justice will be served. For the rioters, we already have the evidence. Shame. And who will be prosecuted for the deaths and the damages during these riots? Should I march the streets and smash some windows, vandalize and beat some people because I'm not happy with our law enforcement responding to the rioters? Of course not.
