Gail Borden starts summer reading challenge

The Gail Borden Public Library has begun its summer reading program, "Reading Takes You Everywhere!" The 2020 Summer Reading Challenge for youth from infant to eighth grade started May 27 and continues to Aug. 5.

New this year is an all-online Summer Reading Challenge! Register now and start logging at home with the online reading log at gailborden.beanstack.com.

Read all summer and log your minutes to earn prizes. Pick up your prizes beginning July 1.

Prizes include a Gail Borden drawstring prize backpack with a fun surprise and coupons from local businesses.

When you finish your challenge, enter into a drawing for prizes such as a Target gift card, a Lego set, a ukulele, Ozobots and more!

Teens and adults also can join in the challenge. Read and log your books and be automatically entered into a drawing for prizes including gift cards good at various locations!

The Main Library and Rakow Branch has extended hours for drive-up and phone services. As both buildings remain closed, library customers can reserve materials online at gailborden.info or by phone at (847) 742-2411, then pick them up at either drive-up window.
