Elk Grove groups holding food drive Saturday

The Rotary Club of Elk Grove Village is partnering with the Lions Club of Elk Grove Village, the Elk Grove Chamber and several other organizations in the village to host the Elk Grove Community Food Drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The event will benefit the many pantries in the Elk Grove area that are distributing food as fast as they receive it at this time, organizers say.

Volunteers will be on-site to unload donations from vehicles at two locations, Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, 1010 Rohlwing Road, and the Elk Grove Village Public Library, 1001 Wellington Ave.

The pantries are in need of jelly, peanut butter, oatmeal, canned vegetables and soups, rice, pasta, cereal and facial tissue.
