Inspiration in youth

Reading the letter written by the current Showers Memorial Scholarship winner, Elena Brewer of Palatine High School was an inspirational reminder of what has helped make our country great and the leader of the free world countries. It can make us proud to see a young American who speaks so strongly in memory of the goal and purpose of the "Sarge" Showers Memorial Fund. She writes of the positives and the strengths that have given us our country versus all of the negative, derogatory, nitpicking letters and commentaries we find given by too many of our citizens. We can take hope for the future from this wonderful student. Congratulations, Elena.
