Incomplete facts can hide the truth

It isn't always about what is written but what is missing from an article or announcement that can slant the reader's view. A case in point is the announcement of the new USPS Postmaster General, Louis DeJoy. How does the article in the Daily Herald describe this person? "A Republican fundraiser and prolific political donor," and "..a close ally of President Donald Trump."

What is missing from this description? For more than 30 years, DeJoy served as chairman and CEO of New Breed Logistics, Inc., a leading U.S. provider of highly engineered, technology-driven, contract logistics solutions. In 2014, Louis merged New Breed Logistics with XPO Logistics, Inc. He then served as chief executive officer of XPO Logistics' supply chain business in the Americas. In December 2015, Louis retired as CEO and was appointed to a strategic role on XPO Logistics' board of directors. In May 2018, Louis retired from the XPO Logistics' board of directors.

So the reality is that the president's choice for Postmaster General actually has a tremendous base of experience which can help turn the organization around and allow it to operate going forward. Of course, you would never know any of that based on what this newspaper printed. Clearly they didn't print anything that was false, but you could see why some might call it fake news.
