Some Naperville park facilities reopening
Naperville Park District staff members will begin to reinstall equipment between May 26 and the first week of June to allow the reopening of several types of park facilities, including basketball courts, volleyball courts and the Knoch Knolls Park disc golf course.
Basketball rim installation will begin May 26 at neighborhood parks and then will move to sports complexes. With 104 rims to be reinstalled across the district, the process will take about a week.
Volleyball nets and the disc golf baskets at Knoch Knolls Park will be reinstalled beginning June 1. The process will take up to three days.
Once the facilities are open, the district expects users to follow social distancing protocols of maintaining a minimum 6-foot distance from others. When this cannot be maintained, a face covering needs to be worn.
Additionally, players must follow CDC guidelines for hygiene to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by vigilant hand-washing or using hand sanitizer in the absence of soap and water, and by refraining from touching their faces.
