Hersey High School senior awards scholarship named for late alum

The Chicago Automobile Trade Association presented the 2020 Spirit of Carol Cooling Scholarship to a senior at John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights this week. Kathryn Costello received the scholarship, now in its seventh year. It honors Cooling, a Hersey alum and longtime NBC 5 Chicago special events director who died from cancer in 2013. She worked closely with the association for Channel 5 programming.
