Local Boss Babes group holds virtual Derby-themed benefit May 22

On Friday, May 22, Boss Babes will host a virtual party to raise funds for the Fox Valley Coronavirus Relief Fund and Mutual Ground.

The networking group recently met virtually to vote on a theme for the fundraiser, and the Kentucky Derby won the race.

Sponsored by Aurora Downtown, Boss Babes is a group of locally-engaged women that previously met every Wednesday morning at Wyckwood House in downtown Aurora.

They have been meeting virtually in the past several weeks and decided that raising funds for the community is a priority during COVID-19.

Attendees must be age 21 or older. Tickets to the virtual derby party can be purchased for $25 on Aurora Downtown's Facebook page at www.facebook.com/auroradowntown/ or Eventbrite.

Virtual Derby Party activities include a hat contest, an auction benefiting Fox Valley Coronavirus Relief Fund, and liquor pull benefiting Mutual Ground.

Stay tuned for information on purchasing cocktail kits and carryout from downtown restaurants.

Sponsors include Aurora Downtown, Wyckwood House and State Street Jewelers.
