Small businesses hurt
I just went to Kinsch Village Florist in Palatine, as our family has since the 1960s. I learned that their Cook County property taxes have been raised from approximately $30,000 to over $200,000 due to a change in how the Cook County tax assessor now defines their business. The Cook County tax assessor strikes against the small businesses again. This time the victim is another long standing business that has been a staple in Palatine my entire lifetime. The poor Democrat leadership in this state and C(r)ook County, specifically, is ruining our state and community. My friends from other states can't believe it when I tell them what our taxes are. It might just be time to join them elsewhere.
