Lurvey Home & Garden kicks off your gardening summer
Need to up your gardening game? For the Daily Herald's annual Get Your Summer On campaign, we kick the season off with some help for your garden while you're staying home and thinking about being more self-sufficient.
The Daily Herald is partnering with Lurvey Home & Garden in Des Plaines to host four free gardening webinars. They will be recorded so you can watch them at your leisure, but you do need to sign up in advance.
In addition to receiving discounts after each session, there will also be drawings for gift cards.
All four of the classes are for experienced and novice gardeners alike.
Here's the schedule:
• Edibles: Tune in for tips and ideas on how to grow your own edibles this summer. All registered participants will get a 15% off coupon for any accessory for the edible garden (including grow cages, raised beds and fertilizers), organic soil or compost. This session will be released at noon Tuesday, May 19.
• Seasonal Color: Find out the best way to add color to your landscape this summer. Sign up in advance and get a 15% coupon toward an AQUA-Pot. This session will be released at noon Tuesday, May 26.
• Staff Picks: Check out Lurvey's staff favorites for this season including trees, shrubs and perennials. Registered guests will receive 15% off these items. This session is set for noon Tuesday, June 2.
• Embracing Your Outdoor Space: In this webinar, Lurvey will share ideas to help add heat to your outdoor living space with fire pits. Sign up in advance and get a 15% coupon to use toward a fire feature. This session is set for noon Tuesday, June 9.
