Congresswoman keeping her promises

During a time of crisis, it is so reassuring to have strong, capable leadership. In a public health crisis like this, it's relieving to be able to rely on a leader who has knowledge and experience dealing with public healthcare and wellness. That's why I've been so proud of our Congresswoman Lauren Underwood.

Underwood has shown her strength and dedication to her constituents during this COVID-19 pandemic as she did in so many ways before it.

Before we were sheltered in place, Underwood held town hall meetings in all seven counties of the 14th District in addition to constituent office hours, roundtable discussions and meetings with community groups. Now, she's hosting similar discussions almost every other day on Facebook Live.

In Washington, Underwood strongly supported the CARES Act and she's continuing to work for our front-line healthcare workers, essential workers and the residents of the 14th District. She's introduced legislation like the Equitable Data Collection and Disclosure on COVID-19 Act, which will address the disparities and consequences of millions of Americans living without health insurance.

Further, Underwood is continuing to work for our veterans impacted by this pandemic, supporting the paycheck protection program, funding for our Postal Service and advocating for additional relief to small businesses and local farms.

In 2018, Underwood promised she would be transparent, accountable and accessible. And every day she's living up to her word.
