St. Charles mayor to deliver video message for Memorial Day

With the annual St. Charles Memorial Day ceremonies and parade canceled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, Mayor Ray Rogina will instead deliver a virtual message honoring military personnel who have died in service.

The video, which will be available on the city's website and YouTube channel, aims to offer a socially distant way of memorializing those who have given their lives for the country, Rogina said in a statement.

"While this year we can't all come out to show our respects for the servicemen and women who have lost their lives fighting for this country," he said, "I wanted to be sure to take a moment to remember them and reflect on the sacrifice they made."
