Be reasonable

Recently the City of Elmhurst launched the #ElmhurstStaysHome campaign because that is what the city considers is safest for Elmhurst residents. I think a more business and job-friendly message is #ElmhurstTakesReasonable Precautions.

Let nonessential businesses open up and let their employees work with the usual precautions of social distancing, face masks and washing hands. High-risk individuals stay home. People unwilling to take a calculated risk can stay home.

Recently, we recognized International Workers Day. It is essential that we work in order to keep a home that we can be safe in. And on a larger scale, continual shutdown of the economy with further government bailouts is courting financial disaster. Enough already.
