Pritzker rules don't make sense

The Daily Herald used its Opinion page to announce all the efforts being made to help its readers "through this historic time." Managing Editor Jim Baumann implored readers for the "need to keep an open mind'. Might the Herald, along with other publications that have very little to inform its readers about other than COVID-19, delve into the capricious manner in which our elected politicians, specifically Gov. Pritzker make decisions impacting the citizens of this less than competently run state.

Across the border in Wisconsin golfers can ride two to a cart, play in foursomes and do not have to wait 15 minutes between tee times. What difference is there in playing golf a few minutes north of Antioch vs playing golf in Antioch?

Rules governing farmers markets, which have been deemed "essential businesses," are so mind boggling as to be incomprehensible. Shoppers going to the local grocery store are free to handle unwrapped produce, fruit and every commodity on every shelf in the store. People literally rub shoulders in the aisles. However, shoppers at a farmers market are not allowed to touch the same produce or fruit, having to wait for the vendor to select the chosen item, bag it and hand it to the customer. A shopper in Jewel can linger in the store for hours, while a shopper at a market has to get in and get out.

A family of five living in the same house 24/7 that happens to own a boat cannot partake of boating together as a family because of the edict of no more than two people to a boat. Rational? Defensible? Based on what exactly?
