Ives not showing concern for environment

Jeanne Ives says at her campaign website that she is an environmentalist. Well, I do not trust that Ms. Ives would stand up to the conservatives in Congress who have supported Trump's rollback of 95 environmental regulations. Ones that had reduced mercury emissions from coal powered electric plants. If she was truly concerned about the environment, she would be objecting to Trump's 26% reduction of the EPA's budget for fiscal year 2021. The Audubon society has objected to Trump's Interior department's roll back of bird protections under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Ms. Ives' campaign website is silent on this hideous exploitation of wildlife protection.

The Trump interior department has requested a 15.9% cut in its budget while the national parks have billions of deferred maintenance. Ms. Ives is silent.

She says that no one has to be "progressive" to be concerned about the environment; and while that is true, I am lost to find a conservative concerned about the degradation of the environment that the Trump administration is causing. Ms. Ives is silent.

Rather, Ms. Ives writes paragraph after paragraph decrying the warnings of a warming atmosphere by scientists and progressive government leaders as "alarmists." She politicizes the evidence of global climate change as just another in a series of "normal" warmings that the earth has undergone in the last 10,000 years.

I suggest a NOVA PBS program (Polar Extremes) for your viewing should you endeavor to better understand cycles in the earth's climate. A better telling of it than Ms Ives" superficial view of the last few thousand years.
