China's true intent for globalization showing

What were they, our former leaders and their policy wonks over the years, thinking?

Embrace China as a nation worthy of integration into the family of nations. Admit them to the World Trade Organization and commence an era of globalization that all nations can benefit from a particularly proud Chinese culture. This codependency was to meant to be the modern-day version of encouraging a dictatorial authoritarian system of governance to beat their swords into commercial plowshares. And their behavior over the years has belied their true intent, currency manipulation, intellectual-property theft, etc. Their legacy is really that of unleashing the Hong Kong, Asian and H1N1 influenza pandemics and now COVID-19 upon the world.

What type of society cuts off the rest of their country from a province harboring their Wuhan contagion, yet blatantly permits the exportation of that plague to the four corners of the earth via outbound flights knowing full well the degree to which it is contagious.

If China cannot change then we must. Our relationship with China needs to be righted but not by the same old wanting political class that thinks it's entitled and wants to upend life as we have known it. If they get their chance, then kiss you lives and all that you cherish goodbye.
