The government's help is not 'free money'

It's unbelievable to me that in this country, in this day and age of supposedly smart college-educated people, there are still those who think the government has its own money.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

The only money the government has is what it collects in taxes. Taxes from big businesses, small businesses, sales taxes, payroll taxes, federal taxes, state taxes. If corporations go out of business and no one is working, the government has no income. There is no free anything.

Please be advised that free doesn't mean no cost. Someone is picking up the tab for your welfare, "free" food, "free healthcare" "free college," If you collect "free" benefits, thank your working, tax-paying neighbors and stop badmouthing big business. They are the ones paying for your free stuff. Not Congress, not the president or even your governor.

These people only channel the tax money received from you to wherever they want it to go. When senators fly back and forth across the nation to their second home, you are paying for it. Their pension funds? You are paying. Remember, we support the government with our money and trust them to use our money to make our lives better. Someone should remind them, too.
