Hilltop Suppers return May 12 as a 'to-go' event

First Congregational Church of Dundee in West Dundee is continuing its monthly Hilltop Community Suppers.

It will be offered to-go from the parking lot driveway of the church, 900 S. Eighth St. There will be no dining in the church building.

The suppers are open to any community member who would enjoy a warm, cooked meal.

The next free supper will be Tuesday, May 12, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The May menu will feature a Mexican meal provided by On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina of Algonquin. This is the fifth year that the restaurant has sponsored an entire dinner in support of Hilltop Community Suppers.

The supper will be organized by restaurant manager Jeff Yale and run entirely by On The Border employees and volunteers with food handler permits working on the meal. Everything is sanitized and, before workers enter the church, their temperatures are taken and they are masked. Social distancing practices will be observed.

Dinners are offered at no cost, but freewill donations are gladly accepted to help sustain the meals. Additional contributions are accepted at any time. Come join this "drive-through" gathering of community members.
