District 25 alumna, former teacher returns as Westgate principal

An Arlington Heights Elementary District 25 alumna and former teacher will return as Westgate Elementary School's principal next school year.

Ann Buch, her husband and their two children all went through District 25 schools, and her dad was once the Ridge Elementary principal while her mom was a teacher at Patton Elementary.

Buch previously taught at Patton and Greenbrier schools, but since 2015 has been a principal and assistant principal in Deerfield Elementary District 109. Her hiring for the $128,000-a-year Westgate principal job was confirmed by the school board last week.

“I'm so excited to be back in Arlington Heights, a place that has helped make me who I am,” Buch said in a statement. “Arlington Heights has helped form me into the person I am today. I'm so grateful for the knowledge and perspective I gained from my time in Deerfield, and I hope to bring all of that, along with my passion for the Arlington Heights community, to Westgate.”
