The rest of Casten's response to COVID-19

I read the Daily Herald's March 31 article about the 6th Congressional District race. The concluding paragraphs wondered if Casten "could have a leg up with his expertise on the climate crisis and with the public steps he's taken against the coronavirus ..." The only step listed was a round-table discussion. In response to that, I wanted to highlight the rest of his response to COVID-19 for the "fickle American voting public" to please consider.

On March 20, Casten signed a letter asking for renewable energy subsidies to be add to the emergency relief package. He is invested in a renewable energy company, had this been added into the bill he would have personally financially profited from it. On March 21, Casten praised China for their response to the pandemic. On March 27, Casten told the news media they should not cover presidential news conferences because he said they are killing people. Since then in April, Casten has called Trump supporters traitors and Indivisible DuPage, credited with getting Casten elected, called Republicans "killers." Casten says nothing.

In Springfield, Jeanne Ives was focused on policy solutions and now as a candidate is seeking the best solutions to this unprecedented problem. She has been bringing forward interviews with business owners, doctors, mortgage professionals and using her platform to give them a voice. Jeanne has put out information on PPP and from SBA, HUD and a resources page on her website.
