Free legal advice in Kane County:

The Kane County Law Library and Self Help Legal Center is closed through early May because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but it is still offering residents access to free legal advice over the telephone. From 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, people who are representing themselves in a divorce or family law issue may call (630) 406-7126 to speak to a Kane County Bar Association lawyer for free. Attorneys from the Peskind Law Firm will answer inquiries and will return messages. People with a civil, legal question such as a landlord/tenant issue, eviction or small claims may call in between 9 and 11:30 a.m. to ask questions during the Lawyer in the Lobby Program.
