Give president credit for success in crisis

In response to the letter "Surprising lack of awareness," the writer is shockingly unaware of what President Trump has done in response to the pandemic. On Jan. 31, President Trump called a travel ban on China, which undoubtedly saved lives. At that time, Joe Biden and other Democrats called the travel ban xenophobic.

It is the job of state governors to have their states prepared for emergencies. Gov. Cuomo failed the state of New York by turning down an opportunity to buy ventilators for the state years ago. But who worked with the private sector to build ventilators and make PPE? Yes, President Trump did.

Who helped cut red tape to let doctors and patients choose medications that they want to use? Thank you, President Trump, for letting doctors and patients decide if they want to use hydroxychloroquine.

Per hospital beds, President Trump had the National Guard make temporary hospitals at the Javits Center and McCormick Place. Mayor Lightfoot thanked him. President Trump got the Comfort hospital ship to New York harbor in record time. The Mercy is on the West Coast. Thank you, President Trump. The president has put together an impressive team and implemented a coordinated attack on this virus that is working. Thank you, President Trump.

Thank you, Jeanne Ives, for recognizing these achievements. I support Jeanne Ives because she will get things done.
