Two companies expanding in Elk Grove Village

Elk Grove Village trustees this week endorsed Cook County 6b property tax incentives for two local companies planning to expand.

Brett Anthony Foods, which operates a commercial kitchen at 1350 Greenleaf Ave. that prepares ready-made foods in volume for grocers like Mariano's and Whole Foods, plans a $9 million expansion by acquiring a neighboring property at 1250 Greenleaf Ave. There, the company plans a three-phased expansion that includes demolition of old buildings, refurbishing and repurposing an existing building and joining it to the current facility.

Kemco Trucking Inc., at 1810 Estes Ave., plans to purchase a 13,500-square-foot building at 1851 Touhy Ave. and spend $75,000 to refurbish it. The firm specializes in warehousing and distribution of products used for trade shows.

The county tax incentive allows properties to be assessed at lower levels over the course of a dozen years.
