Relevant statistics

It was disheartening to say the least, to see the comments of Mary Doetsch of Wheeling on the Daily Herald Opinion page on Wednesday, April 8.

Somehow in her small world of thinking, the - at that time - 544 deceased, and 15,078 cases of coronavirus in Illinois alone, are not big enough numbers for her. She believes that "these numbers are so small that they are statistically insignificant." Perhaps if someone holding this view were one of the deceased or confirmed cases, those numbers would become more relevant.
