A vile comparison on media and president

I read with interest the recent letter to the editor, "The better question regarding president," which alleged that biased networks compare our president to King Herod. As a regular viewer of such purported "biased" "fake news" network, this is not a claim I have heard or read. Upon further research, I could not find this comparison on any major network - except, one article from August 2019 in the Miami Herald.

Further, the article refers to King Herod as the "Israeli King." King Herod was not the Israeli King but a Roman King (who was also Jewish) appointed by the Roman Empire to oversee Judea.

The author uses the Murder of the Innocents from the Gospel of Matthew for the purpose of amplifying his disgust for this comparison. However, this article was offensive - it seemed to link Israel and the attempted elimination of Jesus by the Roman Empire to the liberal news media's vile treatment of this president.

No doubt CNN, MSNBC and NY Times are critical of this president, but none have made such a vile comparison. In spite of what some may think, all Americans are rooting for the White House during this crisis because the ill and the dead are of all political persuasions.
