Lake County judges hold contest to honor 19th Amendment
Coloring, poster, illustration and essay contests that celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote, are being hosted by Lake County circuit court judges for students in grades K-12.
The theme for this year is "Your Vote, Your Voice, Our Democracy: The 19th Amendment at 100." Students in kindergarten through third grade can participate in a coloring contest; grades four through six in a poster contest; grades seven and eight in an essay contest; and grades six through 12 in an illustration contest.
All submissions are due April 27. Visit http://19thcircuitcourt.state.il.us/1446/Law-Day-Activitiesfor information and guidelines on each contest.
