Socialized medicine failing
Regarding Isola Metz' recent letter: As of April 4, Italy had recorded 14,681 deaths from the Coronavirus, out of 119,827 cases, for a 12.25% fatality rate. In the United States, a much larger country, we had 7,406 deaths, 277,613 cases, for a 2.67% fatality rate. The socialized health system of Italy has not been up to the task and is a warning about how poorly socialized medicine would do here.
