Culver's sends dessert to staff, residents of Long Grove facility

The nearly 200 residents at Legacy Health Care's Avantara Long Grove, a post-acute and long-term health care facility, were becoming anxious, lonely and weary of staying in their rooms, isolated from their families.

Staff members were stressed with monitoring their every outside contact, social distancing, enduring dry, crinkly hands from the relentless hand washing and use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

Tensions were rising.

What's the best way to de-stress? Dessert, of course. More to the point, frozen custard.

Thanks to the generosity of Culver's Restaurant in Lake Zurich and Next Level Hospitality Services headquartered in New Jersey, the residents and staff of Avantara Long Grove enjoyed 100 pints of Culver's frozen custard.

Flavors such as caramel fudge cookie dough, chocolate Oreo volcano, raspberry cheesecake, butter pecan, and Snicker's swirl were enjoyed by all.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to both organizations from everyone at Avantara Long Grove.
