Lake foundation gives $150K:

The Lake County Community Foundation awarded $150,000 to three nonprofit organizations who are helping people during the COVID-19 pandemic through the Lake County Community Crisis Relief Fund. Twice As Nice Mother and Child was given $75,000 to address an increase in demand for diapers, wipes and formula in Lake County. PADS Lake County was awarded $60,000 to help the organization handle the increase in homelessness. And Mano a Mano Family Resource Center was awarded $15,000 to provide direct assistance to immigrants for expenses including housing, health care, food, child care, transportation and mandatory immigration fees. Windy City Bulls help pantry:

The Windy City Bulls, the official NBA G-League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, have partnered with Hoffman Estates-based screen printer Blink Tees to produce a limited edition T-shirt that will be sold during April, with proceeds benefiting Schaumburg Township Food Pantry. The T-shirt features a design produced by Windy City Bulls players and coaches during a business development team-building session in early March at Blink Tees. The design includes a bull's skull with creative markings prominently displayed below a rock-and-roll-inspired "WINDY CITY" moniker. These shirts, available in youth and adult sizes, will be sold for $20, with $10 donated to the pantry and $10 retained by Blink Tees to cover their expenses to produce the shirts on-demand. Barrington tailor sews masks:

Barrington Tailor Shop at 112 E. Main St. has mobilized its sewing staff to make cloth masks that are available for free to any village residents who need them. Village officials said masks are limited to two per family. The tailor shop also is accepting donations of fabric and elastic, along with financial contributions to purchase supplies, according to the village. Call Jolly at (847) 381-6411 to schedule a supply drop-off or mask pickup.

Lake Barrington reduces fees:

In an effort to alleviate the financial burden placed on local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, Lake Barrington has extended the deadline for business license and liquor fees until May 31, while maintaining the May 1 due date for business license renewal applications. Additionally, the annual business license fee has been reduced by 50%, from $100 to $50.
