Groot Industries issues guidance on recycling to suburban customers

Groot Industries on Monday issued guidance to some Northwest suburbs it serves on how residents should dispose of recyclables if anyone in a household tests positive for COVID-19 or is exhibiting symptoms. In an effort to protect the health of refuse collection employees, Groot officials say recyclables be now must be placed in a bag, then inside a curbside trash/refuse cart, by anyone from the household affected by COVID-19. Residents from healthy households may continue using the standard procedure of placing loose recyclables in the cart for those items. The affected Groot towns include Palatine, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Rolling Meadows and South Barrington.
