Please leave kids at home

This is a plea to parents to have some common sense and leave the kids home when you go out shopping. I am amazed how many parents bring their children with them to the grocery stores during these difficult times.

I am not talking about a single parent with one or two children - although they should figure out a way to get someone to watch their children and shop alone. My biggest issue is with the families that are shopping for groceries together. You have Mom, Dad and several children all walking around and blocking the aisles, while some of us are trying to adhere to social distancing.

Why can't one parent shop and the other stay home with the children? I have seen children running their hands along the shelves that the store employees are constantly wiping down. Children cannot keep their hands off things, like shelves, food and other shoppers. They are just being kids, but this is unhealthy for them and all of us.

Parents need to use common sense and not expose their children or the other shoppers to this terrible virus. There is no way to know who is walking around with it. Perhaps stores should enact a policy to ban families or groups of shoppers.
