We must be prepared to quickly continue on

The genie is out of the bottle. We are all staying home to put her or him back in. Now what? What will it take to get our lives and economy back? The government is working on handing out cash to individuals and businesses. That may be a good thing, but it will be short-lived if we don't get our lives and economy back.

If we stop our plans for the future and pull in the reins, then there will be no future. We all need to treat this as simply a pause, and then continue on. This is what must happen: In four to six weeks when the gate is opened and we are set free, each and every one of us must do whatever is in our power to continue on with our lives as planned. It may be as simple as going to your barber or hairdresser like normal, going out to dinner at your favorite restaurant and bar, or buying that car you were thinking of, etc. Continue on.

This also means that businesses, hospitals, schools, municipalities and park districts must continue on like nothing happened. If they were going to rehabilitate their facilities or build new then they should do so. If there was a computer or equipment upgrade planned then that must happen. If they found some shortcomings in their emergency preparedness then work on that.

Continue on.

This is the only way people will get back to work and our economy will recover. We need everyone to do what they can to continue on. If we do, we will all come out fine.
